Ghana and UAE Seal $1 Billion Deal for Africa’s Largest Innovation and AI Hub

Accra, Ghana – In a landmark agreement poised to transform Africa’s digital landscape, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a $1 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Ghana-UAE Innovations and Technology Hub. This ambitious project, announced today, June 7, 2025, aims to accelerate Ghana’s digital transformation and solidify its position as a regional leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and technology.

The hub, to be built on a 25 square kilometer site in Ningo-Prampram, will be fully funded by the UAE’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) in partnership with leading AI entities from Dubai. The Ghanaian government will provide the necessary land. This initiative builds on Ghana’s growing reputation in the tech sector, already bolstered by existing endeavors like Google’s AI research center in Accra.

The Ghana-UAE Innovations and Technology Hub is expected to significantly boost the country’s tech ecosystem, foster international partnerships, and create numerous opportunities in AI and other digital fields across the continent.
