In an official statement reported by the Djibouti News Agency (ADI) on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Djiboutian government confirmed it is closely monitoring the deteriorating security environment in neighboring Ethiopia.
“Djibouti, committed to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, calls for de-escalation and the resolution of disputes through dialogue,” the statement read, affirming Djibouti’s solidarity with the Ethiopian people and its continued support for national cohesion and lasting peace.
Djibouti’s public intervention underscores growing alarm among neighboring states regarding the potential spillover of Ethiopia’s internal military conflicts.
